At Hill View we feel it is important that the children have access to a high quality curriculum across the full range of subjects.

Our plans show the important knowledge the children need to know in each subject as well as the order in which we teach it, from the early years onwards.

At Hill View Primary School Geography is a valued and equal element to our curriculum. We aim to ensure children learn about the Geography of the world and its people. We provide purposeful learning through an enquiry curriculum driven by: • Locational Knowledge • Place knowledge • Human and Physical processes • Geographical skills Staff aim to inspire and motivate children to think ‘as a geographer’ while using geographical skills throughout. Geography is taught throughout our enquiry curriculum through different terms within each school year. The curriculum aims to build on children's knowledge and understanding of their locality before progressing into their understanding of the wider world. The curriculum planning presents opportunity for fieldwork within each enquiry and locality links and comparisons. Lessons aim to stimulate curiosity through various experiences. Please see the school Geography provision planning map for further information regarding curriculum coverage.
