At Hill View Primary, we believe every child can be confident and successful in maths. Our curriculum follows the White Rose Maths scheme, which builds knowledge step-by-step from Reception through to Year 6. White Rose focuses on fluency, reasoning and problem-solving, helping children develop deep understanding and apply their maths skills in different contexts.
To support our youngest learners, we also use the Mastering Number programme across EYFS and Key Stage 1. This gives children strong number sense and confidence with counting, addition and subtraction — providing the foundations for future success.
We use Numbots in Key Stage 1 to help children practise number facts in a fun and engaging way, and Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) in Key Stage 2 to build speed and accuracy with multiplication and division facts. Both platforms support fluency and allow children to track their own progress.
We would love to introduce you to our Maths Ambassadors, pupils from Years 4 to 6. Our ambassadors play an important role in promoting a love of maths across the school, supporting younger pupils and helping to celebrate maths learning at Hill View.
